Resurrection welcomes any and all residents of Spartanburg County who seek a church home that is Bible based,
founded upon the ancient Creeds and the Confessions that inspired the Reformation. Our traditional, liturgical worship
is centered on receiving Jesus and His good gifts in and through His Word and Sacraments. We believe that the church
is primarily a hospital for souls, a place of healing where Christ makes all things new!
Resurrection Lutheran Church, LCMS, is a new church plant in Spartanburg County. After the closure in 2019 of Lamb of God
Lutheran Church in the City of Spartanburg, there has been no active Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod congregation in one
of South Carolina’s largest, fastest growing counties. Some former parishioners are helping to "resurrect" a Confessional Lutheran presence in Spartanburg County. As we get started, we have a supporting partner in Immanuel Lutheran Church of Simsonville, to help see the project through.
We invite you to join us in this renewed mission as we grow together in faith, fellowship, and the hope we have in Christ.
Come help us build a new church home for you and your loved ones!

With the universal Christian Church, the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod teaches and responds to the love of the Triune God: the Father, creator of all that exists; Jesus Christ, the Son, who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise to life again in the ultimate victory over death and Satan, and the Holy Spirit, who creates faith through God’s Word and the Sacraments. The three persons of the Trinity are coequal and coeternal, one God.
Being Lutheran our congregation accepts and teaches the Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther that inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th Century. The teachings of Luther and the reformers can be summarized in three short phrases: Grace alone, Scripture alone, Faith alone.
God loves the people of the world, even though they are sinful, rebel against Him and do not deserve His love. He sent Jesus, His Son, to love the unlovable and save the ungodly.
The Bible is God’s inerrant and infallible Word, in which He reveals His Law and His Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ. It is the sole rule and norm for Christian doctrine.
By His suffering and death as the substitute for all people of all time, Jesus purchased and won forgiveness and eternal life for them. Those who hear this Good News and believe it have the eternal life that it offers. God creates faith in Christ and gives people forgiveness through Him.
Our purpose is to establish a church in Spartanburg County that is:
1) A Christ-centered Church
2) A liturgical Church
3) A creedal Church
4) A sacramental Church
5)A confessional Church
6) A historical Church
We are a Christ-centered Church, proclaiming Jesus Christ crucified and risen for the forgiveness of sins and the life of the world.
We are a liturgical Church, gathering around Word and Sacrament in the historic worship of the Church, where Christ Himself serves His people through His gifts.
We are a creedal Church, joyfully confessing the faith of the one, holy, catholic (universal), and apostolic Church as expressed in the Apostles’, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds.
We are a sacramental Church, rejoicing that through Holy Baptism we are united with Christ in His death and resurrection, and that through the Lord’s Supper He gives us His true body and blood for the forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation. In these means of grace, Christ Himself is present to create, sustain, and strengthen faith.
We are a confessional Church, holding fast to the truth of Holy Scripture as faithfully confessed in the Lutheran Confessions contained in the Book of Concord, through which we echo the Gospel witness of the Lutheran Reformers and the Church catholic in every age.
We are a historical Church, standing in continuity with the faithful generations before us, grounded in the Word of God and the tradition of Christ’s Church.
All that we believe, teach, and confess flows from and returns to Christ alone—our Redeemer, our Righteousness, our Lord, and our God; who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen!
